Dedalus Joins Ecuador’s Ministry of Public Health Digital Transformation Project

MEDIA RELEASE

Dedalus will bring its healthcare technology, international expertise and implementation experience to support the rollout of digital solutions across more than 1,700 healthcare facilities.

Quito, 22 October 2026. Dedalus, a global leader in healthcare IT, is taking part in Ecuador’s Public Healthcare Digital Transformation Project, led by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) and the National Telecommunications Corporation (CNT EP). The initiative aims to improve the integration of clinical information and strengthen the management of healthcare services through digital technology.

On 13 October, Dedalus representatives joined leadership and technical teams from Ministry of Public Health, CNT EP and Google Cloud for a workshop focused on defining the project’s deployment roadmap and coordinating the next stages of implementation.

CNT EP is overseeing the overall delivery of the project, while Dedalus brings its healthcare technology, specialist expertise and international experience to implement and further develop the digital solutions within its contractual remit. This work is being carried out in close coordination with CNT EP and the relevant public-sector teams.

With more than 45 years of experience in digital healthcare and a presence in 38 countries, Dedalus develops and implements technology solutions tailored to the needs of the healthcare sector. Its involvement in Ecuador reflects the company’s commitment to building more connected healthcare systems, where clinical information is available to support patients across their care journey.

Digital technology to support continuity of care

The project includes the phased rollout of an electronic health record, giving authorised healthcare professionals secure access to patients’ medical information. This will help improve the continuity of care between healthcare facilities and services.

Digital tools will also be introduced to support the management of appointments, medicines, medical supplies and other healthcare resources. These solutions will help improve information traceability, streamline coordination across clinical and administrative processes, and give healthcare managers access to up-to-date information to inform planning and decision-making.

The project spans seven years, with the first three dedicated to implementing the platform and progressively connecting more than 1,700 healthcare facilities. The rollout will follow the operational priorities and requirements of Ecuador’s public healthcare system.

Training and knowledge transfer

Training, knowledge transfer and ongoing support for local teams are key elements of the project. Dedalus will help build the skills and expertise needed to support the adoption of digital solutions, ensuring they can be used effectively and sustained over the long term.

Drawing on its experience delivering digital healthcare transformation projects in countries around the world, Dedalus will tailor its solutions and implementation approach to the needs of Ecuador’s healthcare system, working closely with CNT EP and the institutions involved.

Through this initiative, Dedalus is helping to build a more connected and interoperable healthcare ecosystem, where technology and clinical information support healthcare professionals and contribute to more coordinated, human-centred care.
