Porz Hospital - Orbis Card

“With the ORBIS CARD, the whole world of cardiology is digitally depicted.
The exchange with Dedalus works really well, our ideas are gladly taken up and implemented. We have only had good experiences”
Prof. Dr. Marc Horlitz
Initial situation
- ORBIS Cardiology was introduced in 2016
- In 2021, the cardiology solution was upgraded to ORBIS CARD
- The following modules were put into operation individually:
- Cardiac catheter workstation (ORBIS HKAP)
- Pacemaker documentation (ORBIS HSMD)
- Echocardiography (ORBIS ECHO)
- Electrocardiogram management (EKGM)
Requirements
- The solution should make sustainable and unburdening work for all users a reality
- Ensure the capability of making quick and rapid requests
- Ensure a continuous overview of the entire course of treatment
- Documentation of all procedure steps
- Creation of digital conditions to involve other hospitals in reporting in the event of an emergency and to facilitate mutual planning and implementation of measures
- Complete cardiological workflow presentation

“With ORBIS CARD, we can now respond more individually to the needs of the individual departments and create their own profiles if needed. In addition, we are even more flexible through the option of integrating different report forms. With the current system, we can respond more individually to the requirements of the individual specialist departments.”
Dr. Helge Anders
Solutions
- Digitization of cardiology, electrophysiology and rhythmology department by introducing the ORBIS modules ORBIS CARD HKAP, HSDM, ECHO and EKGM
- Software connection to 22 cardiology devices
- Customization and optimization of the system for the user
- Introduction of the specially integrated cardiology software solution from the manufacturer TomTec and the material recording solution in ORBIS
Advantages
- Simpler and more flexible work due to optimization and customization options that the ORBIS CARD offers
- More patients can be treated since resources can be used more sparingly
- Clear, standardized, and quick availability of all data
- Due to generated workflows, missing information/documentation are noticed already during treatment
- Elimination of numerous redundant interfaces and services since ORBIS is used as an all-in-one solution throughout the hospital
