Press Conference in India
Tuesday, April 5

Last week, Michael Dahlweid, Group Chief Product & Clinical Officer at Dedalus, gave a speech at the Dedalus Press Conference in Chennai (India).
The name Dedalus comes from an inventor from Greek Mythology, who built wings that Icarus used when he flew too close to the sun. And that is why our Dedalus is all about inventing.
A diverse population of 6.600 individuals enriches our company in more than 38 countries that work together to innovate and drive better healthcare options for millions of patients worldwide.
Globally, we have 2,500 employees in R&D, of which 1,000 are from India. As part of our expansion plans, we will scale up our R&D workforce to 3,000 by the year. We will 400 people will be hired in India.
To Dedalus, India is an important region, but we are not well enough known here, and our challenge is to be better known so that we can attract more talents.
Why do we want to grow in India?
– Because of the good experience we have had here and the long-standing relationship.
– For the accessibility of a talented, skilled, technology-agnostic workforce.
– Because of the workers’ ability to focus on specific sectors.
Dedalus is the largest non-US player serving the global patient population. We are still expanding and setting up academic partnerships here in India – looking into how to get interns into Dedalus – to enrich our capabilities and expand outreach,” explains Michael Dahlweid, Group Chief Product & Clinical Officer at Dedalus.
