Our shortlisted project

“Reducing Health Inequalities Through Inclusive Digital Pathways for Equitable Patient Choice and Engagement in Outpatient Radiology Services” is a truly collaborative initiative between Dedalus, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and Soliton IT.

Using Swiftqueue, fully integrated with the NHS App, we redesigned outpatient radiology booking pathways to give patients genuine choice over when and where they attend appointments. Patients can:

• Self-schedule appointments
• Receive real-time notifications
• Access multi-language support

All designed to be inclusive, accessible, and patient-centred.

Key outcomes

• DNA rates reduced by 62–67% across radiology modalities
• Strong digital uptake across all age groups, including patients over 70
• Improved patient satisfaction, autonomy, and 24/7 booking flexibility
• 250+ admin hours saved per month for every 3,000 appointments

This initiative shows how inclusive digital solutions can tackle health inequalities, improve engagement, and deliver meaningful benefits for both patients and staff.

Winners will be announced in March 2026 at the HSJ Awards ceremony in London.
