This is why Andrea Fiumicelli wanted to lead Dedalus
People on the move
It was in connection with a meeting a few years ago with, among others, the chair of the board, Giorgio Moretti, and majority shareholders in Dedalus that Andrea Fiumicelli realized that he wanted to help realize their vision of creating a leading European player in the international market for health and healthcare-related IT solutions.
“I realized that the management of Dedalus, in addition to its clear vision, also had a great passion for improving operations in healthcare, diagnostics and other parts of healthcare,” Andrea Fiumicelli told Digital Health.
It later became easy to accept the offer to become President and CEO of Dedalus. The discussion with the management of Dedalus took place in connection with Andrea Fiumicelli giving them good advice prior to the planned acquisition of Agfa Healthcare IT, a company that he had previously led and developed in medical IT.
“I worked for several years in US-based companies and realized the complicated challenges that arise when they have to do business and conduct business in healthcare IT in Europe. I realized that there was a clear need and space for the Europe-based international healthcare IT company that Dedalus has now become,” Fiumicelli stated. Andrea Fiumicelli was, for a period, responsible for healthcare operations at DXC Technology. He left DXC Technology in May 2020.
