Dedalus Italia wins the Milan Polytechnic's Digital Innovation in Healthcare Award

Digital health beyond the emergency: more connected to get going again

On May 26th, during the conference “Digital health beyond the emergency: more connected to get going again”, the University of Milan awarded health it projects realised by health trusts or hospitals. The Apulia Region won the award for Digital innovation using our software, this is one of the most significant prizes in Italy.  The Dedalus project for Aress Puglia won the category Services for hospital-territory integration.

As part of the TALIsMAn project (co-funded by the Ministry of Universities and Research), the Strategic Regional Agency for Health and Social Care in Apulia (AReSS, a technical-operational and instrumental body of the Region), in collaboration with Dedalus and other academic and industrial partners, has developed a platform that makes it possible to design an individual care plan for the individual chronic patient, remotely monitor vital parameters, carry out video consultations and access a virtual tele-specialist clinic, displaying the patient’s data in a structured manner.

The monitoring kit includes a tablet, a diagnostic scale, a Bluetooth glucometer, a Bluetooth sphygmomanometer, a multi-parameter electrocardiographic device and a Tensor Tip device. During the pandemic, a simplified version with a pulse oximeter instead of the whole kit was made available to COVID patients in home isolation. The solution was then made available to 300 cancer and rare disease patients and subsequently to 80 RSAs and 10 General Practitioners.
