Dedalus to deliver new electronic patient record for NHS Humber Health Partnership

Dedalus ORBIS EPR application selected to support clinically led transformation across NHS Humber Health Partnership

NHS Humber Health Partnership has selected ORBIS by Dedalus as its new electronic patient record (EPR) platform, marking a major milestone in its journey to deliver safer, more connected care.

Serving over 1.5 million people across Northern and North-East Lincolnshire, Hull, and East Yorkshire, the Partnership provides acute and community services through Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust. ORBIS will unify patient information across these services, replacing multiple legacy systems with a single, integrated EPR.

Following a rigorous evaluation process, the decision reflects a shared commitment to clinically led transformation and a system that delivers real benefits to patients and staff. The new EPR system will:

  • Enable integrated, real-time access to patient records across services, ensuring continuity of care and reducing duplication
  • Streamline clinical workflows, cutting down on administrative burden  and improving efficiency
  • Enhance safety and quality with standardised documentation and clinical decision support
  • Support alignment with NHS England’s digital maturity and EPR convergence objectives.

Group Chief Strategy, Partnerships and Digital Officer, NHS Humber Health Partnership

« 138 doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, operational and administration staff were involved in selecting our preferred supplier, and we’re thrilled that they have selected an EPR which leads in the KLAS clinical usability scores. This EPR programme will transform the way our Group operates, clinically, operationally and digitally and we can’t wait to move to the next stage with ORBIS. »

Richard Craven

Managing Director, UK & Ireland at Dedalus

« This is a significant step forward in our partnership with NHS Humber Health Partnership. ORBIS brings the flexibility, safety, and usability needed to support sustainable, clinically led transformation. Built through decades of collaboration with health systems across Europe, it reflects how care is delivered in the real world—supporting clinical teams, improving patient outcomes, and enabling lasting digital progress across both Trusts. Our shared focus on clinical leadership, collaboration, and a phased approach to implementation gives us a strong foundation to deliver real value to staff and patients. This development also speaks to something bigger. EPR systems help reduce duplication, free-up time, and improve how teams work together, all to the betterment of patients. It supports the NHS’s wider goal of delivering better care with the resources, tools and systems that make that possible. We’re looking forward to working closely with teams across the Partnership to realise these benefits. »

Implementation will follow a phased and collaborative model, ensuring clinician involvement throughout. This approach—refined through
Dedalus’s 40+ year partnership with the NHS—is designed to maximise adoption, clinical safety, and long-term value.

Dedalus applications are used in the care of one in three European citizens and are designed to support the evolving needs of individual Trusts,
Integrated Care Systems, and wider national goals.
