East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust has chosen ORBIS U as its Electronic Patient Record (EPR) – the first Trust in the UK to adopt the solution from Dedalus.

ORBIS U EPR will enable patient information, including medical history, diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, allergies, radiology images, and laboratory test results to be digitised across the Trust’s four hospitals – Lister, New QEII, Hertford County and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

Mark Stanton, Chief Information Officer at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, said: “Deploying ORBIS U as our EPR is a major undertaking for the Trust and a key component of our digital transformation.

“We chose to stay with Dedalus as ORBIS U EPR is a significant upgrade on our existing EPR solution and can be adapted to our needs.”

The advanced, cloud ready EPR system by Dedalus, delivers unparalleled integration across multiple clinical processes, improved decision making, accelerated diagnoses, and superior patient support.

Roxana Bostina, Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) said: “ORBIS U EPR will give us a comprehensive patient record, built on real time data, which will in turn enable us to transform patient flow, standardise processes and reduce waste.”

ORBIS U EPR is expected to result in gains in efficiency, process optimisation, robust data security, and streamlined communication within the Trust.

Daryll Goodall, Regional Managing Director of UK and Ireland at Dedalus, said: “We are delighted to begin this collaborative endeavour with East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, which shares our passion for delivering affordable excellence in healthcare.

“Together, we believe that the powerful ORBIS U EPR system will streamline processes, bolster decision making, and, ultimately, result in better patient experiences and care.”
