Scaling the Diagnostic Imaging care experience with cloud technology

Centro Médico Los Cobos, in Bogotá, is a reference private institution for providing comprehensive health services based on a very innovative care model, with the highest technology and services quality, based on excellence.

In its diagnostic imaging department, where an annual volume of more than 150,000 requests is currently generated, they were looking for a transformation of the care experience that would benefit both patients and medical professionals.The challenge required transforming their old local PACS-RIS system into a cloud system capable of covering their current needs, but also giving them the flexibility to grow at the pace of future challenges. To achieve this, Dedalus helped them make a technological paradigm shift that, together with some modifications in the service, has led them to optimize their operational efficiency with the highest information security standards, thus increasing the service´s value for all users.

The technology implemented includes PACSonWEB and RISonWEB, DeepUnity solutions. This solution allowed them to unlock the power of the native cloud in diagnostic imaging, enabling web access to requirements and reports by both radiologists and physicians, as well as patients; and, by the other hand, they have improved their cost-efficiency by starting to work on a Software as a Service model and going from burning more than 6,000 CDs/DVDs per month to deliver tests to patients, to only 300.

In addition, they also integrated the Business Intelligence solution, BI4H, which allows them to have all the data on a centralized platform for better management and analysis of the information. Now, as a support for decision-making, they have accurate information, based on quality data, and always available at any time, place and device.
