Hume Rural Health Alliance Achieves Major Milestone with Successful i.PM Implementation

We’re excited to announce the successful completion of the i.PM implementation activities across all sites within the Hume Rural Health Alliance. The Hume PAS Connect project marks one of the largest multi-campus implementations to date, covering approximately 40,000 square kilometres—an area comparable to Switzerland. The Hume Region includes 14 Health Services and 23 hospitals, collectively managing over 110,000 separations annually.

Planning for this transformative initiative began in November 2022, with contracts finalised in February 2023 and the project kick-off taking place in March 2023. The Alliance has embraced nearly all i.PM acute function sets licensed to the Victorian Health Department, signaling a significant step forward in healthcare technology for the region.

The journey to replace the Alliance’s aging legacy systems has been a decade in the making, marked by detours and challenges. Aligning such diverse Health Services across the Hume region onto a single, unified multi-campus database was no small feat. The implementation overcomes these hurdles, consolidating multiple legacy systems into a cohesive platform. This unified database facilitates the seamless sharing of patient records across one of the State’s largest geographical regions.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication and collaboration of our Professional Services and Support teams. Since March 2023, these teams have worked tirelessly with Hume Rural Health Alliance to install, configure, and train users, ensuring the solution meets both individual Health Service needs and regional objectives.

The go-live for the Hume region in November represents a pivotal milestone in advancing healthcare delivery and efficiency across regional Victoria. Congratulations to everyone involved!
